What is KegFit?

Your doc says you should work out, so might as well do it with your friends and a “recovery” beer.

We started on the Idaho State Capitol steps, as BoomBox Body, working out with our friends in the summer sun before heading to the Saturday Market. As soon as the weather changed, we had to end our Saturday gatherings - until our friends at Woodland Empire invited us to workout in their brewery.

So the workouts continued and expanded, to include more incredible people and the challenge of lifting kegs. We mix circuit training with empty kegs, welcoming everybody to make the workout as hard as they want. EVERY TUESDAY. We’ll see you there.

The best part? We’re REALLY close to the tap room. So of course, we enjoy a recovery beer after the workout and mingle with our fellow discussing past and future events going on in the community, what we like to do, and how awesome we feel.

That guy featured in all the photos? Oh, that’s Dirk, the founder of KegFit! If you’re in Boise, he’s usually the man to be running the workouts, sprinkling in some wild stories and with the exercises and plenty of enthusiasm, to keep everybody moving towards beer-thirty.

Not in Boise? Check out our Schedule Page to see if there’s another KegFit group in your community. If not, let’s talk about starting one in your city, so our community can continue to grow!

don’t just take our word for it:

“Anyone who has ever been to a gym knows that it’s not really the place you go to meet people. There’s not a lot of conversation—mostly headphones and silently waiting for your turn on the next machine. At KegFit, the warm up and introduction fosters conversation and a sense of friendship. This is underscored by the delicious craft beer and food available after the workout.”
